For those of you who’ve been crying into your Le Creuset braisers ever since Gourmet stopped appearing in your mailbox, dry your eyes. Queen of the foodies, raven-coiffed ex-Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl is coming back to Miami.

A four-time James Beard winner and former food critic at the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times, Reichl is also known for her food memoirs. Her Garlic and Sapphires is already being adapted for the big screen.

This time around, she’ll be in town to promote a nonfood text, For You Mom, Finally, previously published as the more harshly titled Not Becoming My Mother. In it, Reichl reflects on the difference between women of her own generation and that of her mother, an intellectual who once corresponded with great thinkers such as Bertrand Russell, only to idle away her days as a wife and mother.
