Boys Who Cry Wolf

If West Coast rock met laid-back Florida acoustics, mingled, had a few drinks, and then had a baby, it’d be awesome. Actually, they did. Sort of. South Florida native Tom Gorrio of Call It Radar and Cali native James Bratton of Boy and the Wolf have joined forces (and band names) with Radar vs. Wolf. Less a battle of the bands and more a folksy music collaboration, they’re fresh off of touring for their debut release, This EP Is Legit. The mellow, beach-infused duo — think Dashboard Confessional meets Jack Johnson (Johnson is from Hawaii, but close enough) — will play a live in-store “Sweet Party” at Sweat Records this Saturday. Other bands slated to perform include Boy Have Heart and the ironically named Danielle Steele. No, she’s not the romance novelist, but she might make your swoon anyway.
