Pass the Courvoisier

Six years is nothing to scoff at in clubland. It’s a world where things come and go quicker than that Swedish tourist you slept with last week, or the burning sensation in your jock a few days later. Places that are hot one day, quickly become yesterday’s news. It’s a difficult business, but if anyone has perfected it, it’s Mansion. It may not get respect from Miami’s hardcore nightclubbers or hipsterati, but bodies continue to fill up its couches and VIP areas. (The dance floor, as is customary in most South Beach nightclubs, is tiny.) But Mansion’s 6th Anniversary party will be massive. To commemorate their years in the biz, Busta Rhymes will perform live this Thursday, in anticipation of the summer release of his ninth album The Chemo. See the Brooklyn-born rapper, a veteran in his own biz, who broke out in 1996 with the single, “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check.” On Friday, Fabolous and Trey Songz take over the duties after their performance at the James L. Knight Center. Yet, the climax of the anniversary party happens Saturday when quasi-celeb DJ Steve Aoki takes over Mansion’s decks.
