Give Teach a Chance

Listen up! Your friends John and Yoko are talking ’bout education, inspiration, administration, affirmation, celebration, collaboration, communication, creation, donations. Really, all they are saying is give teach a chance. And you can do exactly that by showing up with pocketfuls of benevolent Benjamins for this weekend’s We All Shine On, a benefit exhibit and sale of Lennon sketches, serigraphs, lithographs, and more.

Presented by Legacy Fine Art Productions and Ms. Ono herself, Shine opens Friday at the Miami Beach Community Church (1620 Drexel Ave., Miami Beach) and runs through Sunday. The largest collection of Lennon’s works on paper ever assembled, the show features rare pieces such as Consult the Stars, Turn Left & Make Peace, and the Real Love series of children’s drawings sketched for his son Sean. Artwork ranges in price from $200 to $20,000, with all proceeds benefiting Adopt-A-Classroom, a Miami-based nonprofit that provides cash to underfunded and supply-strapped public school teachers and students.
