Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra gave each member of his team a motivational book as a Christmas gift: Jon Gordon’s The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team With Positive Energy. “It’s a poignant book,” Spoelstra told the Sun-Sentinel. “We’re at our best when we’re on that energy bus and we have that effort, that energy, and that intensity.” Whether they read it or not, though, is up to them, Spoelstra says. "Some guys will read parts of it, and if they don't, the parts that I want them to get will be the daily lectures to them, from time to time.”

At the Sports Exchange Restaurant this Monday, you can watch the Heat ride the energy bus when they visit the Utah Jazz. Tip-off is 9 p.m., but get there early for the eatery’s weekly Monday happy hour, when the drinks are buy-one-get-one-free and the appetizers are half off. At the end of the night, you might have to call the drunk bus.
