Holy Smokes

When jam band Phish took over the American Airlines Arena four nights in a row, we never expected the city to turn into a neo-psychedelia mecca. But the high seems to have lasted long after Phish and its phans left town, courtesy of the six-day Jam Cruise setting sail from Fort Lauderdale. It's safe to assume the billows of smoke emerging from the ship aren’t from the engines.

But every great voyage must come to an end, and when the ship docks in South Florida, people sporting cargo shorts, Birkenstocks, and hemp bags will be pleased to know the party will continue even after they’ve left port. White Room's usually hipster clientele will probably want to skip Holy Kimoto making its debut performance at the downtown venue. Comprising jam band heavy hitters Michael Travis, Jason Hann, Kyle Hollingsworth, and Steve Kimock, the supergroup is sure to knock the tie-dye right off of your shirt.

Sway to the music beginning at 7 p.m., as long as you’re 18 or older. Tickets cost $20 via glittergluproductions.com or $25 at the door.
Fri., Jan. 8, 7 p.m., 2010
