More About
Deep in the heart of every snowflakes completely unique structure lies the home of Flore de Lisa, Queen Fairy of Winter. Though smaller than a nanometer, Flore de Lisa controls when and how much it snows with one wave of her tiny magical ice wand. For eons, Lisa has shunned South Florida, refusing to let it snow because Miamis first king, in 80,000 B.C., Fidel Von Castro, blew smoke from his giant cigar in her face. But now the good people at Miami Metrozoo have finally gotten the queen to provide our city with a small compensation: Flore de Lisas Winter Wonderland. This Sunday, head to Dr. Wildes World inside the zoo between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a Christmas-themed Zanzibar that includes entertainment, photos with Santa, and 12 giant Christmas trees, each bearing a signature design. You can even enter a $5 raffle for a chance to take home one of the trees. Admission to the Winter Wonderland is free once youre in the zoo. Adult admission is $16 for adults, $11.72 for children ages 3 to 12.
