When it comes to bringing out everyone’s childlike innocence, nobody does it better than art collective FriendsWithYou. Comprising artists Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, FWY creates pieces that challenge the viewer to let go of adulthood — whether it be through their adorable plushies, vivid watercolors, or interactive playgrounds — and give in to acting like a child, even if for just a moment. And unlike some other characteristically Miami artists (see Romero Britto), the work doesn’t come off as gimmicky or cliché.

In what seems like a natural progression of its artistic career, FriendsWithYou will open a flagship store in the heart of the Design District. Like everything FYW-related, Borkson and Sandoval’s philosophy for the store is to “Shop happy!” Customers will be able to get their hands on limited-edition merchandise including apparel, fine art, sculptures, prints, and collectible toys.

The store will officially open Tuesday, December 1, with a party from 6 to 10 p.m.
