No matter how well known and lusted over the South Beach club scene is, if you’re a local, it can still feel a tad overrated, even sometimes predictable. We become so used to openings, debuts, and special events that we get a bit jaded. Yet there’s always a chance the new place will become a spot that holds a special place in your drunken heart, where feverish memories (and non-memories) are burned into your senses. Could the Clevelander’s 1020 Music Boxx be that place?

Its futuristic décor and 100-square-foot DJ booth alone make it worthy of a visit. Add with two fully stocked bars that offer two-for-$250 bottles (of Patrón, Grey Goose, and Johnny Walker Black), wall-to-wall windows, and no cover, it’s a serious contender.

This Saturday, Music Boxx will host Quality Control, featuring DJ Self Born spinning a mix of R&B, hip-hop, and anything else that will make you dance the night away. This box combines the lighting and sound system of any huge club with the intimacy and chic setup of a lounge. Doors open at 10 p.m., and you can stick around until they close at 5 a.m.
