The Spatulas are Out

How can you not love Anthony Bourdain? He travels the world getting drunk and eating weird shit, yet still keeps his composure long enough to have a successful show on the Travel Channel. And now the 28-year culinary veteran brings his panache to South Florida when he hosts the Celebrity Chef Series at the Knight Concert Hall this Friday at 8 p.m.

The night’s competitors will be fellow celebrity chefs Jacques Pepin and Eric Ripert. Here’s how it works: Bourdain will interview Pepin and Ripert about their backgrounds, best-selling cookbooks, and favorite restaurants, producing the kind of access a food lover could only dream of obtaining. And then, the two French master chefs will put their knives where their mouths are, so to speak, and prepare some favorite recipes while simultaneously answering audience questions. In other words, perfection. Tickets cost $25-$200, but if you’re a VIP ticket holder, you also get to meet the chefs at a post-show cocktail party.
Fri., Nov. 13, 8 p.m., 2009
