King Fishing

Just as Miami Heat fans are holding their breath waiting to see if star Dwyane Wade will re-sign with the team, Cleveland Cavaliers fans are worried LeBron James will leave when he enters free agency at the end of this season. At least the Cavs’ management has made moves to appease their King, bringing in Shaquille O’Neal to miss free throws, slow down the fast break, and spread jocularity. Or spite. Just depends, as we learned when he was down here, how much winning he’s doing. If you want to catch those new-look Cavs, this Thursday’s 8 p.m. rumble is one of only two visits they make to American Airlines Arena, the second coming Jan. 25.

But your weekly Heat fix isn’t over yet. Their five-game home stint closes out with the New Jersey Nets, home of former Heat players Rafer Alston and Keyon Dooling, on Saturday, and then the Oklahoma City Thunder, in the team’s only South Florida visit, brings the Kevin Durant show on Tuesday. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. for both the Nets and Thunder games. Tickets start at $10.
Thu., Nov. 12, 8 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m.; Tue., Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m., 2009
