Style Wars. It’s a battle where clenched fists and gnashing teeth are replaced with sewing needles and, um, gnashing teeth (used for cutting thread and fabric at a breakneck pace). The fighting ground: Well, it’s more Macy’s than rolling fields covered in blood, but the pleasure and pain at Style Wars is no less evident than at your, humph, actual war. After all, competitors here fight for respect, bragging rights, and a title that will get them chicks. Supermodel chicks.

House of Diehl’s unique brand of style battling has made it to the Bravo network; Johannesburg, South Africa; and, once again, Miami. This Wednesday night at LIV, young, upcoming designers will be given one task: Create a wearable work of art using recycled clothing and household objects — in five minutes. We’d make a tube dress out of a bed sheet and call it a day. Perhaps that’s why we’ll simply watch the madness from the audience, prepared to drool over the creations. Designers, apply at houseofdiehl.com. The battle begins at 10 p.m. Admission is free, but visit houseofdiehl.com/stylewars to RSVP.
