Snap, Crackle, Rock!

Many of you have probably heard Jimi Ruccolo’s ditties rattling around your brainpans without ever knowing it. When the homegrown warbler isn’t tearing up local stages, he’s often in the studio recording jingles for Del Monte fruit, McDonald’s burgers, or Cocoa Puffs cereal. But what really drives most people cuckoo for Ruccolo is his ability to mix original compositions with classic rock, jazz, and blues favorites.

“His vocals range from Marvin Gaye to Gregg Allman to Daryl Hall,” beams Randy Singer, musical director for host venue the Van Dyke Café. “Jimi can emulate anyone and often mixes mind-bending whammy bar effects, tapping slide, and ferocious soloing when he plays. Our audiences sit with their mouths open when he sings with the passion of a caged tiger,” Singer adds.
