There's Glass in My Candy

Glass Candy sounds like it's on a space shuttle mission to the deep, dark recesses of the Galaxy Disco, copiloted by Lydia Lunch and Giorgio Moroder. Well, Glass Candy's synth-disco duo, Ida No and Johnny Jewel, will temporarily land the shuttle B/E/A/T/B/O/X at the Vagabond September 11.

Sweat Records, which will present the show, made the announcement on its blog.

Last time the duo was in town, it put on a triumphant show at Studio A with Ariel Pink's Haunter Graffiti during Art Basel 2007. Unfortunately, Pink's grumpy drummer seriously bummed out our spaced-out euphoria, so we're happy they'll be back for a hopefully drama-free show.

Glass Candy recently released a 12-inch of its Geto Boys sampling "Iko Iko" rework on Italians Do It Better Records, and Sally Shapiro producer Johan Agebjorn contributed a remix of their "The Chameleon" to Lo Recording's excellent Milky Disco 2 comp.
