The good news is the Florida Marlins took down the league-leading Dodgers a few weeks ago. The bad news is the Nationals, the worst team in the majors, swept the Fish soon after. The good news is they were able to bounce back and sweep the defending World Series champion Phillies. The bad news is they're still behind in the NL East race. The good news is pitcher Josh Johnson is a stud. The bad news is ESPN jinxed his bid for a no-hitter a few weeks ago by announcing he had a no-hitter in progress.

But the really good news is the Marlins are on the cusp of a playoff berth. And with continued timely hitting, solid pitching, and all-around gutsy play, they just might make it. Florida takes on the San Diego Padres this Sunday at LandShark Stadium. The first pitch flies at 1:10 p.m.
