Azúcar! If your hips start moving at the mere mention of Celia Cruz, Queen of Salsa, put on your dancing shoes and get on over to the eighth annual Miami Salsa Congress at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa.

This Saturday, the mad, hot ballroom events will include salsa cardio workshops and salsa boot camps from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; then cap off the day with a party featuring dance showcases and live bands from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Salsa enthusiasts from all over the world will descend on Miami for this dance vacation weekend, but as a footloose local, you get to choose which events to attend (prices range from $15 to $100) without having to splurge on a hotel room. Can you hear the distant beat of the conga drum? We thought so. Tickets are available at miamisalsacongress.com or the event’s registration desk.
