If you’ve grown sick of pop culture’s irreverent fascination with prenuptial agreements and boulder-size engagement rings, let the cast of Married Alive refresh your faith in the institution of marriage. Telling the story of two couples, one newlywed and the other, er, oldywed, this rollicking stage show turns the reality of marriage on its head and explores all of its epic ups and downs. If you thought a June wedding in Miami was hot, try watching cast members engage in some flame reignition involving a schoolgirl getup and a Zorro costume. No one gets a “Z” slashed onto his chest, but you’ll leave knowing how longtime husband-and-wife duos keep things interesting in the bedroom. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll reconsider your vow of eternal bachelor-/bachelorettehood. Showtime is 2 p.m. this Sunday at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre. The play runs through August 16.
