You gotta hand it to the Kinsey Sicks. Dubbed “America’s Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet” — possibly because they are the only a cappella ensemble composed of men dressed as women that we know of — they stomp all across this glorious nation performing for audiences great and small, bringing comedy to the masses whether they like it or not.

The Kinsey Sicks perform parodies of popular songs rewritten with naughty and politically charged lyrics. The shows are a collection of bawdy humor, catchy harmonies, and wigs that look like they weigh 100 pounds. Their name is a reference to the Kinsey scale, which “measures” sexuality; a “Kinsey 6” is exclusively homosexual. And, well, it doesn’t get much gayer than drag queens singing four-part harmony, though you’ll find that the comedy itself bats 1.000 from both sides of the plate.

Miami is the first stop on the nationwide tour for a brand-new show they’re calling Wake the F@#k Up, America, a musical sendup of morning talk shows such as The View. Catch it at the Colony Theatre at either 7 or 9:30 p.m., because after that, it’s gone.
Sun., July 19, 7 & 9:30 p.m., 2009
