Tick-tock, tick-tock. The weekend is rounding the corner, so kick it off with a dose of funny. When young and old Coral Gablesians want to laugh their heads off and chug a couple of pints, they head to Laughs on the Mile with Freddy Stebbins at John Martin’s Irish Pub.

Over the past year, comedians such as Ian Bagg, Brett Ernst, Steve Marshal, and Al Jackson have grabbed the mike at this Miami institution, mixing improv, impersonations, and plenty of audience interaction. John Martin’s has firmly established itself as the perfect host for local and national names. Prepare yourself for this Thursday’s lineup, which includes host Freddy Stebbins, Pam Bruno, and Forrest Shaw — three acts who have all done time at both the Hard Rock and Miami Improv.

The show begins at 10 p.m. and runs until about 12:30 a.m. There’s no drink minimum, and entrance is free. Park in the public garage behind John Martin’s for a buck, or valet in front of the venue.
