Having booked EDM giants the likes of Laurent Garnier, Darren Emerson, and Dave Seaman in the recent past, the folks at Shine certainly seem keen on presenting Miami clubgoers with the crème de la crème of international dance music. This Friday they continue the trend with a night of sounds by veteran San Francisco-based DJ Behrouz and the legendary Josh Wink, for the launch of Behrouz's Ecco Beach series -- "a showcase of dance industry maestros and cutting edge phenoms." A DJ's DJ and industry favorite, Behrouz has played clubs from Los Angeles to Tokyo and is praised for his versatile repertoire of styles and genres, from progressive house to minimal techno. Based out of Philadelphia, Josh Wink was a pioneering DJ/producer in the 1990s American rave scene who contributed greatly to the development of tribal forms of house and techno with big hits like "Higher State of Consciousness." Hardly a figment of the past, Wink continues to tour worldwide and his label, Ovum Recordings, boasts a unique cutting-edge catalog of releases by artists like Steve Bug, Loco Dice, and Shlomi Aber. See these two world-class DJs play together for the first time this Friday night at Shine at the Shelbourne.
