Time to strap on the feedbag, Coral Gables. Not the industrial-size one you bring to Uncle Tom’s Barbeque, but the smaller, leather one embossed with the Louis Vuitton logo — the one specifically designed to catch tuna tartare, bacon-wrapped figs, and drops of Chianti. That’s right, Taste of the Gablesis back, which means this Friday night, you’re going to cut out of work a tad early to get to the breezeway between Tarpon Bend and Fritz & Franz for the 6 p.m. start time. With only three hours to sample all the delicious concoctions being given away free at tables sponsored by your favorite local eateries, such as Ortanique on the Mile, Morton’s, Les Halles, Spris, Red Koi, Archie’s, and Caffe Abbracci, there’s no time to waste. While you’re chowing, channel your inner Padma Lakshmi by voting for your favorite dish and enjoy the musical stylings of the Grammy-nominated band Negroni’s Trio. Saturday morning might hurt a little, but it will be worth it.
