Hey, you, under the rock, theres a really cool festival every year that brings short plays to Miami. Its called Summer Shorts, and it includes productions for the younguns (Shorts 4 Kids), some that are simply awesome and dramatic or hilarious (Signature Shorts), and others so dirty they should bear an NC-17 rating (the bawdy Undershorts). Beginning this Thursday, check out works from previous festival favorites such as Christopher Durang, whose comedy Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Where Babies Come From answers your burning questions about Nancy Drews uterus, and SoFlas own Michael McKeevers production of Splat! a spin-off of The Wizard of Oz that will make you never want to click your heels and return home. Tickets cost $42. The festival runs through June 21 at the Arsht Centers Carnival Studio Theater. Visit citytheatre.com to map out your play-viewing strategy.
