Nicky's Week at RA Sushi commemorates the loss of 13 year old Nicholas, nephew of one of the restaurant's founders, to brain cancer. As such, every restaurant in the Scottsdale, Arizona-based, 22 location, nationwide chain participates in a week of charity fund raising, and our South Miami outpost will do the same. All restaurant proceeds from select menu items will benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital, a highly regarded pediatric treatment and research facility. Ra has donated over $400,000 since 2005 and hopes to raise $110,000 this year. Nicky's Week runs from May 24th - 30th. Here are the events that will be taking place. Sunday, May 24: Flying Fish Lounge. 8 p.m.-midnight. Fresh fish and drink specials. Monday, May 25: RA, White and Blue. Happy Hour in honor of Memorial Day 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26: Battle of the Mascots. Join Billy The Marlin of the Florida Marlins and Burnie of the Miami Heat as they sign autographs, pose for pictures and serve up Nicky's Week menu items 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29: RA-ckin' Happy Hour 3-7 p.m. RA's signature happy hour. Saturday, May 30: Roll Up. Closing party hosted by 944 magazine with special guest DJ from 7-10 p.m. Nicky's Week sponsors include 1800, Blue Moon, Captain Morgan, Coppola, FIJI, Mumm, Red Bull, Red Guitar, The Republic of Tea, Shirakiku and Skyy.
