The Cuba Nostalgia expo was created in Miami ten years ago, as its website explains, to provide "a journey back in time for those who remember the island's glamorous times — and for those who never experienced them." If you've never witnessed the weekend-long event at the Fair-Expo Center in Tamiami Park, swing by this weekend; the exhibits, art, and food are a must-see.

And the music! This year, there's a special treat at the Babalú Pavilion — local Latin funk fusion band Electric Piquete. It's just like a regular piquete, only you don't have to wind it up! Friends Ed Rosado and Michael Mut originally formed the band as a way to get into Churchill's annual Hialeahfest in 2007. They've since rounded out to a full sextet by adding guitarist Chris Core, saxophonist Ozzy Reyes, trumpeter Rich Dixon, and trombonist John Normandin. Electric Piquete is guaranteed to have you shaking your ass, and your fist at Castro, in no time flat.
