Bloque Party

South of downtown has the Calle Ocho Festival. North of downtown has Cinco de MiMo. Beginning his Saturday morning at 10, the stretch of Biscayne Boulevard between 67th and 77th streets will transform into a fiesta featuring live music, gourmet food, street performers, antique cars, face-painting for kids, and vintage art and jewelry vendors. At 73rd Street, KRAVE art will be set up alongside the Coppertone Girl mural for photo opportunities. Daring doggies can enter the Pooch Parade beginning at noon and vie for prizes including Best Costume, Best-Dressed Couple, and Funniest Dog. Of course, many of the critically acclaimed restaurants along the boulevard will have tables stocked with two-to-five-dollar sample treats, so make sure to stop at favorites such as Michy’s, Red Light, Moonchine, Wine 69, and the newly repainted Ver Daddy’s Taco Shop. (Subliminal message to Ver Daddy’s: Free guacamole, free guacamole....)

The neighborhood will provide free parking at 7500 Biscayne and complimentary shuttle service around the district.
