With all due respect to the country’s financial woes, we’re sick of the bitching and moaning. Pinch pennies, conserve energy, and stretch dollars on your own time, America — we’ve been struggling for years and now we have to push past even more people at the bar when we want to order our dollar beer and plunge our grubby hand into a bowl of free trail mix. One place we’ve never been able to make a dollar out of 15 cents is The Forge. This Miami Beach mainstay’s prices have always made us shudder, and they must have sensed our pain, because their spring special menu is a prix-fixe godsend that’ll set you back only $45. Sure, that could buy you nine foot-longs at Subway, but when else could you even remotely afford a three-course meal of escargot strudel, grilled petite filet mignon, and gâteau opéra at one of the country’s most feted and notorious steak houses?

The atmosphere, food, and impeccable service make this deal a steal. Call 305-538-8533 to make reservations for the cheapest fancy dinner you’ll ever have. FYI: The special isn’t available tomorrow, so don’t even bother showing up after tonight if you don’t have a couple of Benjamins to spare.
