This is it, white people, the one day of the year you can hearken back to your roots without a qualifying shame for your thousands of years of crimes against humanity. St. Patrick's Day 2009. Yes, everyone loves to claim to be Irish, and why not? They smile in the face of oppression, drink hard, and write poetry with the best of them. It's a shame the holiday is only once a year, so take advantage and head down to JohnMartin's Restaurant and Irish Pub in Coral Gables, adorned in all your green paraphernalia.

This year's Patty's Day is special because it also marks twenty years for the establishment, and they're celebrating by serving a grand Irish dinner with every heart-clogging meat and potato you can imagine, before blasting your ears with special guest UV, a U2 cover band that will perform out on the street beginning at 9pm. And you know there's nothing more Irish than getting drunk in the street.
