When the Miami Heat faced the Charlotte Bobcats November 1, NBA legend and Charlotte managing partner Michael Jordan sat and watched courtside as his Cats took down the Heat 100-87. Gerald Wallace exploded on Miami for 30 points as the rest of the Bobcats crashed the boards, controlled the tempo, and took full advantage of Dwyane Wade’s crappy shooting night. Seems like Jordan has always had our number.

Michael Beasley led Miami with 25 points as D-Wade went for a pitiful five of 15 while being dogged with foul trouble. Udonis Haslem scored a decent 16 points but was taken to the cleaners by Wallace and teammate Emeka Okafor. But since that matchup, Miami’s defense has improved and D-Wade has been on an offensive tear, dropping 30-plus points pretty much on a nightly basis. Charlotte’s big men will actually bring some reprieve for Haslem, who’s had to face Jermaine O’Neal, Yao Ming, Greg Oden, and Shaq in the past few games. The Bobcats shot over 50 percent from the floor that night and ruled the boards. This Monday night at the American Airlines Arena, the Heat needs to step up its defense to get revenge on the Bobcats. That, and get the hell out of the way to let D-Wade do his thing. MJ can appreciate that.
