The 2008-09 Miami Heat season is filled with questions. Can they win without a true center? How many times will they triumph? How many will they lose? But the main question on everyones minds before the season was whether wed see the dominant Dwyane Wade of the Summer Olympics, or the oft-hobbled Dwyane Wade of 2007.
The superstar is having none of that nonsense. Last week against New Jersey, it seemed as if we were going to be stuck with the frustrated struggling Wade of 07. He was abysmal from the field, going just 2-10, while his teammates allowed the Nets to drain 13 three-pointers on their home court. Then, in the fourth quarter, D-Wade decided to remind everyone that he is, in fact, D-Wade, and proceeded to dominate. He dropped 19 points 14 of them in the last five minutes. He also hit three three-pointers of his own, fueling Miamis big comeback win on his way to his third consecutive 30-point game. Question answered. See greatness in the flesh when D-Wade leads the Heat against Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets at the American Airlines Arena. Tip-off is at 7:30. Tickets range from $10 to $350 and can be purchased at www.nba.com/heat.
