The Real McBama

McCain is no tool like that Hawaiian kid: In response to Gus Garcia-Roberts's October 30 story "Faux-bama!": Barack Obama is like a wind-up doll — devoid of any sense of humor — and more important, devoid of experience. The only thing he is good for is running a campaign; that, to me, is not enough — not by a long shot. His wife leaves me cold; just like him, everything she says has to be scripted.

What is even worse are his "plans" when he gets into office. As with Watergate, we should "follow the money," which in Obama's case is very revealing. The pillars of Wall Street and corporate America are not giving money to Obama because he is a nice guy; he's a player. Corporate America is giving him money not to change the system, but to maintain the status quo.

McCain, on the other hand, is a boat rocker. He has a history of that. "The boys" are afraid of McCain. He will make changes. He won't roll over.

Obama does what he is told. McCain does not. That is also why leaders of the Western world like Obama better. They also don't want to rock the boat.

He's no faux!: We saw Faux-bama this past summer during a protest with exiled Cubans at a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors at Hotel InterContinental. A group of us even took pictures with him, but I personally met him in 2005 at Florida Memorial College and I thought something was fishy (crooked teeth, an accent, and nobody else was running to meet him, not even the police!). But he was very nice and courteous, and I enjoyed talking about that with everyone in our group.

Even faked, Obama is better: There seems to be a lot of anger and rage developing among McCain supporters, which is leading to some pretty ugly remarks about Obama. This is the simple truth: Our country has been devastated under George W. Bush. We are in the middle of two wars and the second great depression; we have tarnished the Bill of Rights and the magnificent name of America throughout the world. It is time we all begin to act like grownups and work together to solve our problems. McCain supports the same policies that Bush does on every major issue. Both men are patriotic and good, but Obama offers the intelligence, vision, understanding, strength, and change of direction we so desperately need. McCain people, cool your anger and think logically.

Is rapidly fading: Overall, Bob Norman's October 30 story "Breaking Newspapers" was very interesting, but I have a couple of clarifications. Cox Corporation, the parent of the Palm Beach Post, is in no way, shape, or form near going under. It has, however, expressed the desire to sell the newspaper portions of its business (Cox is mainly a cable and Internet, like Comcast).

Also, the research and consultancy firm Frank Magid doesn't specialize in TV news nor is it invading the newsroom. It conducts reader research and provides advice. The firm has worked for papers for years and probably has gone into TV to expand its revenue base.

Another dynamic not discussed is the Tribune's ownership of local Channel 39 broadcast stations in Fort Lauderdale.

Are a bunch of suckers: In his October 23 story "Dead Weight," Francisco Alvarado, like most reporters, gleefully awaits the defeat of Republicans. There is a very good reason the press has no credibility anymore. You guys are cheerleaders for anything the left-wing Democratic Party puts out. It's amazing that a so-called crusader for public morals is now applauding Raul Martinez — probably one of the dirtiest politicians in Miami-Dade County in the past 20 years.

You say Obama voters will push Martinez and Joe Garcia over the top, but a lot of us angry Republicans will vote, pummeling Obama (man-child) and your two Demo wannabes out of politics.

Just infering to no Pat on his back" learned recently a hotel was set to be demolished , to make new way for , YES"" another building hig rise on the beach. Until Lt. Major of the Peruvian Army (3) times Heart Medal winner in combat, made a Unique discovery , while performing his daily job at The Famous Dezerland Now Holiday Hotel located on Collins and 85th. what he found was The Original Plaque designating this Hotels fine, structure , Which was built in the 1800"s By Sr. Marti, the original Owner, Then , Which, in turned saved this Hotel From dissapearing , as most have on the Beach. Yet To Mr. Lt. Major's surprised , he was not given , any recognition After he Informed His Superiors of his discovery. The One taking the Bow's and pat's, was his Boss, and others as he was set to the side , and never mentioned as the one and only Person to have saved , not only The Hotel, but Also many Jobs. Unjust, unfair, to An Honorable Man, Whom could have just said Nothing, and let Things Fall as , All was planned by the City of miami Beach. After the worse news I have received, after the arrival of Fidel Castro in Havana that obnoxious January 50 yrs. ago, were the news that Obama won the Presidential Election. Who is Mr. Obama? Up to this moment we still don't know a thing about him other than his friends are terrorists i.e. Ayers, the big mouth of Rev. Wright hating the country that feeds him, and the Syrian Rezko a crook who should be in jail rather than handing out money to Obama and family. to top it all off comes out of nowhere someone with a name of Malicki or something like that. Another arab who seems to have covered Obama's schooling in Harvard, and his trip to the Arab land in his youth. Did he ever separated from these people, definitely not. On the contrary these are the people, who helped him get on the ladder of politics. And we have seen some of the same experiences we witnessed in Cuba. The rich people, those he wants to share their wealth with some that never worked, never paid taxes and have lived on welfare having children and hanging helped Obama with thousands of dollars to win this election. Cubans in Fla. that want to travel to the Island constantly and send all the dollars they can to relatives (I can't believe they have so much love?) or is it that they are investing in Cuba? I doubt it. As well as to open the doors of the Island to constant traffic back and forth. These are the Joe Garcias, the Raul Martinez, and none other than Jorge Mas Canosas' son who must be turning in his place, seeing his son's vendetta to the Cuban system. These are the ones that brought Obama to Miami, with Manny Diaz, and a bunch of other politically inclined Cubans that are a disservice to the Community and to the Cubans in the Island. I heard Bendrixen, sold to the Democratic party rather than working his job with fairness, that 15% of the professional Cuban-Americans voted for Obama. Well my sons are all three of them Professionals and none of them voted for Obama. They knew what we went thru to bring them to liberty and freedom in the U.S. We are not socialists, nor are radicals of the left, we lived thru that (originally called communism) and that's all we needed to know. We have to wait and see. We never expected too much from those immigrants now Citizens from Central and South America, they have always hated this country and only use it for their own benefit. Gringo's they never liked. If the polls say that 1 in every 5 blacks voted Obama, then how come Florida was won by Obama? Well there is a lot we still have to see before they curtail freedom of speech and freedom of press other than the leftist press that placed Obama where he is today. Thus we find that: the rich, the left press, the Cubans that love more their family than anyone else, the younger liberal generation from Colleges offered them $4,000 in exchange for community service? for how long? noone knows and the thousands of white Americans that decided they wanted a CHANGE though they don't know which CHANGE? The herd of sheeps have voted.....we'll continue saying our truth until we can. Maybe the sheeps will one day open their eyes and their ears and realize their mistakes. Too late. They should have heard the message and seen the signals and they did not want to. If Mrs. Obama and her daughters dresses for the acceptance speech (red/black for her and the kids black and red) are not a subliminal message to the Americans and the World then they must have been living in a cage: These are the true colors of communism. Unless they were dressed with their Halloween Costumes. Sorry, Americans, but truth has to prevail.
