We can extol the many virtues of spending an evening with Giant Step at the Delano’s Florida Room, but you’ve probably already heard the hype. And if you haven’t, here are the CliffsNotes: Once a month, new and established artists such as Janelle Monáe, Little Jackie, and Robin Thicke bring their groove thangs to what has become a hot spot for live-music lovers in the know. The best part? The venue is so intimate, so effortlessly chic that you feel as if you’re in someone’s living room. Minus paying for the drinks that is, but they’re delish and totally worth the $14.

Giant Step’s flavor of the month is Anané, a songstress who’ll fill the Florida Room with a harmonious fusion of dance, rock, R&B, and Caribbean rhythm. To ensure the beat gets you groovin’, world-famous DJ Louie Vega will be on the ones and twos gracing your ears with a Latin soul-inspired mix. The show begins at 10 p.m. Admission is free, but you gotta call 305-674-6152 or e-mail thefloridaroom.rsvp@morganshotelgroup.com to RSVP.
