For those planning to flee the country next week if J. Mac and his dim-witted side-chick somehow swipe the election, here’s a chance for you to relax with art, food, and live music in a lush tropical setting before doomsday. Beginning at 10 a.m., “In the Park with Art” corrals more than 100 talented painters, photographers, sculptors, and jewelers for the 18th annual edition of the award-winning juried show.

You won’t have to sweat over loons yelping “kill him” or “off with his head” at this family-friendly event, where the mellow sounds of the Singing Miamians and the Robert Morgan Jazz Band promise to soothe the savage beasts. Tykes can amuse themselves with face-painting and craft-making sponsored by South Florida Parenting magazine, and dozens of food vendors will tickle the palate with succulent snacks. Admission is free for this two-day festival at Coral Reef Park.
