We Think in PinkJoin us; support these Breast Cancer Month events.By Patrice Elizabeth Grell YursikPublished on October 16, 2008 at 3:02amThanks to Susan G. Komen and the For the Cure marketing wizards, breast cancer has become an issue almost everyone is aware of. Now the pale pink ribbon is a ubiquitous symbol of hope and perseverance, and supporters of the cause can purchase anything from a roll of paper towels to a KitchenAid mixer to donate to cancer research. This weekend promises some truly worthwhile events for anyone who cares about finding a cure. The ever-popular annual Miami/Fort Lauderdale Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure kicks off at Bayfront Park with a survivor procession at 7:30 a.m. The race itself will begin at 8:30. Admission is $35 race day. Visit www.komenmiaftl.org.
