¡Mayday!

Since the last time New Times gave you a behind-the-scenes read about ¡Mayday!, the fellas have still been stretching capacity limits and adding to their brand of Girls Gone Wild-style madness at their second-Friday jam sessions at Jazid. Notable tracks such as "Watching Me" and "Nothin'" are giving way to the new-school bop of "Miles to Go" and the smoothed-out "Everything," and are so much better reinterpreted live with a drink and your two-step. Before the quintet begins doing arenas, check it out at the close-knit venue of choice, where the Friday-night atmosphere always brings alive Johnny Kemp's "Just Got Paid" anthem. And if you've been paying attention to the band's visually themed looks, first it was the beard and then the Afro. What's next, the high-top fade or the handlebar mustache? Stop by to find out.
