You’ll gladly shop for a pair of shoes, a better deal, even for a potential mate, but when was the last time you headed to the mall to carry out a completely unselfish mission? And we don’t mean that trip to the dollar store for your co-worker’s Christmas gift. If you can’t remember when you last plunked down some cash for charity, and even if you drop a dime in a homeless man’s cup every day, join millions of Americans this Saturday when they Shop for a Cause at Macy’s locations across the nation.

The formula is simple: Macy’s gives tickets to charities, the charities sell the tickets to you, and you hit the mall to shop till you drop while getting either 10 or 20 percent off of your purchases. The organizations keep 100 percent of the ticket sales and you get to do something good for your community, because they don’t call it retail therapy for nothing. We’re hitting up the Macy’s at Dadeland Mall, 7675 N. Kendall Dr., Miami. But you can buy tickets at your nearest Macy’s or at www.macys.com.
