It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since the Marlins won the World Series at the Cubs’ expense. Yet Cubs fans continue to blame that historical NLCS loss on a goat and some unfortunate soul named Steve Bartman (it wasn’t his fault!). Indeed it’s been five years, but the current Marlins team is just as capable of kicking Cubby ass as the ’03 version.

Right after the Florida Marlins face off against the Chicago Cubs at Dolphin Stadium, Edy’s Ice Cream will hold its third annual Ice Cream Festival. The event will feature Billy the Marlin, celebrity scoopers, and contests for the kids. Tickets cost $10, with proceeds going to Cornerstones for Kids and the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Recovery Fund. So after watching the Fish dismantle the Cubs, take the family over to the Edy’s festival. There’s nothing like watching your ball club kick a little ass, eating a shitload of ice cream with the kids, and helping a worthwhile cause all at the same time. Play ball! Game time is 1:10 p.m. Visit www.florida.marlins.mlb.com.
