We are a culture of imbibers, and whether we’re celebrating a life, a death, or a pink slip, you can bet there’s a bottle of hooch in the vicinity. During happy hour, you can usually also find hot wings and disgruntled workers, but two hot spots are turning that stereotype on its head. Red Bar Gallery (52 SW 10th St., Miami) is giving you what you need — if inexpensive cocktails, oodles of art, and atmosphere are your thang. Each Friday evening, get a dollar off of this Brickell fave’s already el cheapo drinks while you got lost in the art lining the walls. Visit www.rebargallery.com.

On the Beach, folks are sitting outside on the fab patio at The Tides’ (1220 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach), sipping eight-dollar limoncello popsicle martinis made from the chef’s homemade version of the bitter lemon liqueur blended with rum and pineapple juice. If you’re scared of cocktails that cause your face to squish up like Renée Zellweger’s, the beer and wine are just five bucks, plus the chef’s choice tapas sampler is gratis with the first round of drinks. Happy hour happens Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. Call 305-604-5070.
