More About
From a vagabond roach to Aesops fables to the high jinks of a fancy-free clown, the Hispanic Theater Festivals International Childrens Dayis sure to keep the entire family in stitches and squeals. Beginning at 3 p.m., the homegrown Gira-Sol troupe presents Martina the Cockroach Comes to Miami, the tale of a gluttonous mouse and a menagerie of critters that are up to no good. The merry minstrels will interact with visiting tykes and promise to stop fibbing and tattling on friends if your impressionable kiddies do the same.
Miamis own Cuenteros & Company follows up with Fables: A Childrens Play, during which ancient Greek storytelling comes to life with boldly imaginative costumes and an evocative original score. Brazils Pe De Vento Teatro caps the bill with Bom Apetite, a gut-busting smorgasbord of music, magic, juggling, group shenanigans, and unexpected laughs. The productions are in Spanish and English and are free to the public at Miami Dade Colleges InterAmerican Campus, 627 SW 27th Ave., Miami. Call 305-237-6186 for reservations.
