“Would you like to donate some blood today?” Those blood-bank folks don’t let up, do they? They’re always posted up outside the grocery store or pharmacy, jostling for space with the Girl Scouts, waiting for you to come rolling out with your shopping cart. Most likely, you mutter “No thanks” or repeat that obvious fib about your freshly gotten tattoo/STD and keep it moving. But on Sunday, the needlemeisters just might get you. The Rhythm Is in Your Blood Hispanic Donor Weekend aims to get the fluid flowing with the aid of music, food, and festivities.

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Miami International Mall, there’ll be a fiesta right outside the food court. Cajun Grill won’t need your pennies — there’s Latin food being served, and after you take your turn to get jabbed in the arm and join the National Marrow Donor Registry, you can score a sweet gift bag that includes a T-shirt and a pair of Marlins tickets.
