North Beach knows it is still undiscovered (meaning there’s still parking available), and the sun-soaked community is determined to experience the overcrowding and littering, plus the heightened revenue stream, of other renowned beaches. Hence, the free AT&T North Beach Tropical Music and Sports Festival, an event that offers something fun for everyone on Sundays.

For those who love to get a tan while they get sweaty, compete in a world-class volleyball tournament; for the sedentary, there are domino matches. And for those who like to do nothing more than bask in the sun, come out and enjoy the revolving roster of talented performers from the likes of Orchestra Canela, Annie D, and La Sonora Yare. The festival runs weekly through May 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue.
