All Right Now

Drop everything, Marlins fans. Super Saturdays are back!

The Florida Marlins plan to get you to the ballpark worked so gloriously last season — a league low in total attendance — they’re doing it again! The Marlins recently announced what they’ve deemed “the much-anticipated return of Super Saturdays for the 2008 season.” They probably use the term much-anticipated loosely. Or perhaps you were one of the countless throng waiting by the phone with unwavering expectation to hear that, yes, Super Saturdays are indeed back. In any event, you’ll be thrilled to know that Saturday home games will include fireworks, giveaways, discounted tickets, and a postgame concert featuring “internationally acclaimed recording artists.”

This weekend’s artist is former Bad Company frontman, the currently very muscular Paul Rogers. Not only is he probably older than your dad, not only did he tour with Queen, but also he can most definitely kick your ass. Oh, and there’s a baseball game before all the musical awesomeness! The Kansas City Royals are in town for a little inter-league action. It all happens at Dolphin Stadium. First pitch is 7:10 p.m. Tickets start at $16.
Sat., May 17, 7:10 p.m., 2008
