Published on May 08, 2008
We cant help but feel a bit sorry for the moms out there. Think about your own; all these years, shes stood by you, wiped away your tears, bailed you out of trouble and/or jail, and encouraged your dreams. And what do you do to thank her? A roadside bouquet and a Bath & Body Works gift certificate dont quite cut it this Mothers Day. Here are our top picks of things-to-do for you and the woman who has loved you as only a mother could.
Remember the time you were in high school and you wrecked your then-BFFs car and Mama had to pay for the damage? Make the bad memories disappear by sparing no expense. Splurge on the monthlong Mothers Day package at ESPA (at the Acqualina Resort & Spa, 17875 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles Beach). For $295, she gets two hours of bliss that begins with a soothing foot ritual and culminates with a fabulous facial cleanse. Call 305-918-6844, or e-mail espa@acqualina.com. Close the deal by taking her to 1 Bleu, at the Regent Bal Harbour (10295 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour). From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., she can nosh on decadent modern Mediterranean cuisine. There are stunning ocean views, unlimited bloody marys and mimosas, and an insane dessert menu, all for $95 per person. Damn. Call 305-455-5400.
If youve got the gas station blues and your bank accounts aching, youll need a more affordable option. Theres a three-course $25 Italian brunch at Blu Pizza e Cucina (900 S.
