They don’t come around too often, these perfect Miami days when the breeze and humidity lean more toward spring than muggy summer. Afternoons like these shouldn’t be wasted cruising an air-conditioned mall or lying on the couch gazing at the television. Get up, get out, and get active! There are several enjoyable activities taking place in Miami-area parks and outdoor spaces, so strap on those sneakers and hit the road.

Step off on the right foot at Self Magazine’s Workout in the Park. This will be the Outdoor Fitness Festival’s 15th year, and there’s lots in store. Come for makeovers, freebies, and 17 energetic classes taught by trainers from Crunch Fitness. You can take part in Zumba Nation, Ballet Pilates, and the Million Dollar Knockout women’s boxing class Saturday on South Beach (at Ocean Dr. between 11th and 12th streets) from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the event, and are available at www.selfworkoutinthepark.com. Just up the beach at Ocean between Eighth and Ninth streets, there will be a vigorous game of beach tennis happening, as the Sunshine State Slam matches up professional teams from around the world. Watch the men’s and women’s pro tournament, beginning at 10 a.m. Visit www.beachtennisusa.net. May is Melanoma Awareness Month, so slap on your sunscreen and go walk for the cause at the Sun Smart Sprint 5K race at Crandon Park (4000 Crandon Blvd., Key Biscayne). It starts at 7 a.m., and participation fees range from $15 to $25. Visit www.splitsecondtiming.com/sunsmartsprint to register. Down in Homestead, there’s the Health and Wellness Day at Fruit and Spice Park (24801 SW 187th Ave.). Admission is six dollars for a day of aromatherapy, meditation, yoga, and tai chi.
