At The Standard, your nana aint playing bingo.
Published on May 01, 2008
Whip out your daubers and grab your lucky charms tonight Sundays are heating up in South Beach at The Standard hotel. Sundays are Bingo Nights at The Standard, where legions of tattooed hipsters descend upon the lobby to sip pricey drinks, absentmindedly play their cards, mingle, and scream drunkenly at each other just for kicks.
The game is a big hit with locals looking for something different and quirkily retro to do. But be forewarned: The staff at the hotel is famously rude and self-entitled, but the trendy crowds seem to accept bad service as part of the experience. Alas, you can't win cash, but there are big prizes up for grabs, including massages, dinners, hotel stays, and such. And let's face it if you won any cash, you'd just blow it at the bar anyway. The game starts at 8:30 p.m., and its free!
