Published: April 10, 2008Boy A meets girl, takes girl to Cuba, slips booze in her drink, and they fall in love. Meanwhile, Boy B is up to his eyeballs in debt, and his fiancée develops a psychosomatic cold she swears wont go away until they get married. If youre a Broadway musical virgin, this all might sound a bit bizarre. However, those well-versed in show tunes are probably already toe-tapping to A Bushel and a Peck. Get ready to do the time warp (oh wait, wrong musical) back to 1950s New York as the University of Miami theater department debuts it latest show, Guys and Dolls.
Damon Runyons comedy classic combines the debauchery of a weekend in Vegas with the romance of a night in Paris, and its best enjoyed after a few dry martinis with your honey. Make it a date at UMs Ring Theatre, 1312 Miller Dr., Coral Gables. It opens tonight and runs through April 26. Tickets range from $8 to $20.
