Ode to Celebration
If youre a poet, its time to show it.
By Frank Houston
Published: March 27, 2008Just in case you werent aware,
Its National Poetry Month, you square.
Kick it with spoken-word at the Bohemia Room,
You wont see rappin Karl Rove --
Just real-word weavers wielding their loom,
Tonight at 3390 Mary St., in Coconut Grove.
The event is hosted by Ingrid B.,
And until 9, the admissions free.
She aims to bring, this month every week,
A plethora of new poets never heard before.
And we know what youre thinking, you hopeless geek:
Sure, its not what this place is known for.
But live a little, try something new --
Maybe you have some dope words in you.
Walk-ins are welcome, doors open at 8,
But if you come later, its not out of reach:
After 9, its just 10 bucks at the gate,
Still less than a Corona on good old South Beach.
