Trilla, Trilla Nights
Rick Ross proves hes still the boss.
Published on March 06, 2008
Four years ago, if you were scoring something from a meeting with Miamis mixtape superstar Rick Ross, it wasnt an exclusive interview. But since then, hes jumped from rollin in a rickety, smoke-filled Toyota Tercel to a BMW with oversize wheels or even a polished-up boat. This rise to fame was a long time in the making for Ross; he has kept his sights set on packed nightclubs, star-studded albums, and platinum ringtones for more than a decade. And now its all come to fruition.
His last album, Port of Miami, was more than just another gold platter on Def Jams palatial walls; it was a record that redefined the sound of emerging South Florida hip-hop talent. Always hustlin, Ross is ready to do it again. But this time its going to be even bigger. His newest is Trilla, and it hits the shelves Tuesday, March 11, but you dont have to wait that long to hear it. Tonight Ross -- along with a few friends: Scarface, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Trick Daddy, T-Pain, Lil Boosie, Lil Webbie, Brisco, Flo Rida, and others -- hits up Mansion, giving you (and a couple thousand of your crew) an early listen during his CD-release party. The first 500 ladies in the door before midnight get to skirt the cover and help start the party with the nights guest turntablist, DJ Khaled.
