Break from the Norm

If your workweek was especially grueling and no happy hour in town could cure your sickness, the wonderful weekend has brought solace for your woes. And no, it doesn’t include a trip to the flea market for some ammo. It’s MeZuNeen at Circa 28, and if the promise of tattooing, break dancers, live art, and body painting doesn’t turn your frown upside down, maybe the ambiance will.

Its “stylishly raw interior” helped make Circa New Times’s Best New Bar last year, but we think the plush, comfy chairs and dim lighting will make you love it just the same. Plus the kids from Blissful Frequencies will be importing their particular brand of cool courtesy of performers Andre Bush, the Cornerstoners, and Gatoe Xango. The drinks aren’t free, unless you’re a good mooch, but admission is. Doors open at 10 p.m. Visit www.myspace.com/blissfulfrequencies for more info.
