It’s a dog’s life at Pawpurrazzi tonight.

Tonight it won’t matter how fly your shoes are or how much you spent on them, because the real stars walking the red carpet at Jungle Island just might chew up those pumps if they get the urge. The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s annual Adopt-a-Pet fundraiser, Pawpurrazzi, will bring out Miami’s furry VIPs and their owners for an evening of food, canine fashion, and philanthropy. Star Jones, Donna Shalala, and the Food Network’s newest star, Ingrid Hoffman, are scheduled to attend, but tonight is really all about the pups.

Pooches will receive custom-made bandannas from Perry Ellis, models will be escorted down the runway by fierce Fidos, and proceeds from the fete will go to the care of homeless animals. In a city where you might spy Max at the mall, Rover in a restaurant, or even gentle, ever-hungry Sophie in the office, it’s only right they get a night that will raise awareness about the importance of responsible pet ownership as well as spay and neuter programs. After all, who else would offer to lick your feet at their stinkiest?
