Lights, Camera, Miami!

See the locations that put the Magic City on the map.

So many film and TV crews have invaded our city over the years that even your little ol’ house might get its 15 minutes of fame. Flicks like Meet the Fockers and True Lies and TV shows such as Dexter and The Golden Girls have written their characters into our lovely landscape, while A&E’s real-life cop drama The First 48 has cast our crime scenes in starring roles. Today from 10 to 1 at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, Dr. Paul George will lead the Florida Film and TV History coach tour, an evening of approved stalking that will stop at sites that found their way into TV and movie classics, both new and old.

True know-it-alls, try your hand at identifying this quote: “Let the servants know! Let the whole world know! About us! Listen, sugar, the only way that you can keep me warm is to wrap me up in a marriage license.” When you call 305-375-1621 to book the tour with your credit card, tell the coordinator your answer, and if it’s correct, you’ll get three bucks off admission. Otherwise, museum members pay $34, nonmembers $39. Advance reservations and payment are required.
